Last Wednesday, 3rd April, I phoned ADT technical to ask if they could come and look at a beam which was faulty. They said the earliest they could come was Monday. I said that it was important to come before the weekend as I had a house-sitter staying. I was told that they could come before the weekend, but it would be after hours and I would have to pay the extra fee. The normal fee is in the R400s, and after hours is R547.20. (I don't think they mentioned the VAT). I objected to the fact that I had to pay after hours fee, but felt I had no option and agreed. On the same day I wrote a letter of complaint to ADT's website.
The technician came around 6.00 on the next day and fixed the problem efficiently. The next morning, I had a call asking if i was satisfied with the service. I said yes, the technician was helpful and efficient, but I was very unhappy paying an after hours fee. I said that it was already two days since my complaint, and I hadn't heard back. It is now 8 days and no response. WHY should I have to pay an after hours fee when it is ADT's responsibility to ensure they have enough technicians? The fee was finally R623.4 with VAT. PLEASE RESPOND, ADT
