Price to repair alarm system a complete rip-off

Alarm system stopped sending signal, so called up Chubb to organise a check. Can you believe the cost is R550??? More than our paediatrician! Anyway, what can you do? Chubb guy arrives, checks, says battery is too flat to send signal, even when on mains power. New battery? R395!
Now a security shop sells the same batteries for R130.
So to change one battery that took not even 10 minutes with a test cost just shy of R1000.00. This is plain and simple highway.
I can only suggest to anyone else to get a private contractor rather than these pirates. Try and go the "normal route" and you end up R945 poorer for 10 minutes work.
Really leaves a bad taste in ones mouth.
