Call centre rep puts phone down

I encountered an error on my dual view decoder. After waiting in the queue for 20 minutes I was connected to an unhelpful call centre rep. After following what seemed like some arbitrary steps, I was instructed to reset the decoder to factory defaults. Taken that I have a HD and SD pvr coupled with extra view, and that I had spent significant time and money to get the combination to work I was reluctant to blindly follow this advice which seemed extreme. At this point she put the phone down in my ear. So now my only choice is to start the process again, time to start the next 20 minute wait in the queue again, which seems to be the standard waiting time :(
