For the last 3 weeks we have been getting an error on our HD PVR decoder. Whenever we start it up it goes directly to a loader download screen. This download takes approximately 17 hours or so to complete. After numerous attempts at a restart, we decided to just wait it out and let the download finish, which it did. Every time we start the decoder however, the down loader begins from scratch. After 3 calls to the NON-TOLL FREE call centre (2 being cut off while being transferred to the "extra view" department), and 1 and a half hours later, I was told once again that I need to take the decoder into Multichoice's branch. I did this just recently and cannot actually believe I have to go back yet again. My gripe however is that their call center is technically inept, has horrendous waiting times filled with cheesy dstv marketing, and worst of all is not toll free. This is another prime example of a big company like Multichoice taking the micky out of its customers. For repairs, the onus is on the consumer to do the legwork while Multichoice sit back and rake in the cash. Unbelievably this is the 10th complaint about Multichoice just for today, the 9th of Oct, and its not even 10am!
