Addition of dependant - MAid main member out of SA

I was retrenched on the 13 March of which my ex employers informed me that I was covered to the end of March. On the 13 March as I collected all papers etc.and informed that the 13th was my last day on the medical aid of which my partner started to action via his broker.the addition of adding me to his Liberty life medical aid. From day one their was always gaps in between and delays. The form was sent and signed by main member together with the proof of membership, that I had to wait for from my previous medical aid. Then the attempt to gain access ASAP even slowed down further as we waited for acceptance, constantly querying from broker. All during this wait, the main member had already left for the Congo to work on a ship for 5 weeks. After this they sent through a affidavit to be completed, the brokers requested that they view this in a sympathetic light due to matters out of our control and the form will be completed once main member returned. The answer to uncontrolled events in ones life and threats to loved ones while they are away was met with a plain "The scheme will not allow it"
