My mother applied at Bestmed in Dec 2012 after she was forcefully removed from Polmed without being informed of the removal. Application forms were sent on 22 December 2013 to Bestmed and we waited for feedback from them until January when Judy called to ask for an affidavit which was sent back within 1 day. We awaited further correspondence, then received a phone call end of Jan to say that if we do not send the letter of acceptance, application will be cancelled. Throughout the time I was communicating with Judy, but she never communicated with me, instead she sent all corerspondence to my son. We sent through the letter of acceptance, was advised to pay 1st instalment cash and were told that waiting period is 3 months from date of acceptance. If my mother was member of a medical aid for longer than 25 months why should the waiting period of 3 months apply. Prior to her being a member of Polmed she was a member on my late father's medical aid for 33 years. I am requesting for the 3 months waiting period to be waived with immediate effect.
