Don't think that because you have a hospital plan you are coverd or will get preauthorisation for hospitalization. We were approved without any waiting period and were promised by our consultant that only cronical issues have a waiting period. My wife was diagnosed with a S5S1 fracture that can be fixed with a surgical procedure. Bestmed declined our request based on a letter from our docter that she had back pain 5 years ago then when I started asking questions they wrote another letter changing their story also disaproving it based on exraise taken a month before we joint, but we only received the diagnosis 49 days after we joint. Please make sure that you are aware of all the small print and DO NOT beliefe everything they tell you about Bestmed. My wife must walk with this broken bone in her back until we are 12 months with Bestmed and then they will approve, in the mean time she suffers from constant excruciating back pain, cant work and are booked off untill March 2014, shes beeing treated for stress, anxiety and who knows what els, she cant stand or sit for longer than 30 minutes. She has her own hair salon and we will most probebly close shop. Think hard before joining Bestmed
