I called into the Discovery Health 0860 99 88 77 number to inquire about changing my plan. I was informed that I can only change my plan in November which I find absolutely ridiculous.

The reason I am wanting to change my plan is because I am wanting to join a plan with my girlfriend who is looking to leave a competitor. I am currently on Keycare Plus (very useless plan). I have been told many time when going to get medication that this plan is rubbish and if I was on the plan up (Coastal Core) it would be paid for. Also I do not use the doctors on the network so I am having to pay R330 out of my own pocket for doctors visits. The keycare network doctors about there locations to get people to go to them, so I dont trust them. I worked it out and it would be in my best interests to go on Coastal Core, as I am not using the network doctors.

I find it ridiculous that I am bound to make big financial decisions when you tell me I can. Whilst I was not ready in November to make a change, I would be ready now. I am also thinking about alerting the consumer protector about this.
