I enquired at Liberty medical aid call centre to request authorisation for spectacles. The agent told me to call PPN? which I did, they assured me there were funds available and said I must go for the eye test.
The optomotrist phoned and said I had to pay cash for both the glasses and the visit as they will not put the account through the medical aid due to some court case.
I paid the R150 consultation and called PPN? again, they then said I was in a self payment gap of R149 and they cannot process the claim until the gap is paid. I told them to process the claim anyway to close the gap so that we could process the spectacles. How am I supposed to close the gap.
I then called PPN again and they said they had no idea whats going on, I must call the call centre to find out what the savings is and call them back. The call centre agent as sweet as he is didn't know either, he phoned me back and said I must process the account payment but still can't tell me what my optical benefits are. I then sent them an email asking how to cancel, this was a few days ago, and no response thus far, when I called the call centre yet again, they said they can't tell me the cancellation fee.
