My mom has recently been diagnosed with cancer. Her company recommended claiming from the companies corporate fund with Liberty Life. All forms duly submitted 07.11.13. My mom called the Liberty call centre who advised that the claim took 10 days to process. She then phoned today and spoke to Nadia Gerson whom the forms were sent to in the medical disability claims dept. She proceeded to tell my mom that the claim wld take 2 to 6 months to process and she doesn't deal with med claims. All other teamleaders, managers, etc were all unavailable and of course did not bother calling back. My mom is now beside herself with worry, not only because she has cancer treatment starting next week but also that she will have no money until liberty deigns to process her claim, call her back Or even bother to explain how this process works. I am disgusted with the don't give a attitude of all liberty staff and brokers dealt with over the last week. The broker has been absolutely no help either. How liberty allows these to deal with their customers is beyond me. I will be contacting liberty on Monday to see how far I can get.
