Faulty Blu-Ray Playe

Electronics and household app.
I will start by saying up until this I really liked Samsung products for their quality and reliability, but my opinion has changed.
I purchased a Samsung Blu-Ray player (BD-E5500) from Makro.
I took it home and tried to watch a movie, there were a list of problems with the player. I assumed this was a faulty unit so took it back to Makro and explained the problem and they switched it for another unit.
I took the new unit home and have many of the same issues on and off. I have reported the issue to Samsung and even though I had explained it was a brand new player and I had already tried the firmware upgrade the issue persisted, all the could say was try and reset the device.
How hard is it to make a Blu-Ray player that actually faultlessly plays Blu-Ray movies?
Problems with players:
- Some discs do not pick up as the correct region so the player will not play them, even though they are the same region encoding
- Some discs don't play at all
- Some discs start playing in the middle of the movie even though they have never been watched on this player
- Some discs you get no sound
- Sometimes if you pause a movie, when you resume the movie there is no sound
