Since when does a firm not keep copy of warranty?

I recently requested a soft copy of the New Vehicle Warranty that is standard with the purchase of a Ford vehicle. The document changes based on manufacturing changes on the vehicles, so it would be reasonable business practice to keep copies that relate to different dates of manufacture.
If you want a copy of this warranty, you must purchase it if you do not have the original copy any longer (again a reasonable assumption).
The poor service in the call centre, lack of accountability by senior staff, and the instruction that I must purchase another copy is tantamount to extortion when it should be freely available on the ford website for download at my own cost.
The Ford USA website has the different warranty documents available on their website, yet the South African website has little to no valuable information that any informed buyer needs.
