In January 2013 My NP300 suffered a clutch failure at 22, 000km and just over 1 year into the warranty. Nissan SA took in excess of 5 weeks to approve the claim, during which time the vehicle was off the road. Bruma Nissan repaired and returned the vehicle to me. Some weeks or months later I was contacted by Bruma Nissan, that Nissan SA had refuted the claim, saying it was driver error and that I was responsible for the repair bill of some R13, 000. I again contacted Nissan SA and complained. The case was reinvestigated and eventually I was told that the claim was again refuted. Nissan SA dragged their feet for 5 1/2 months without telling me what caused the fault and denied me the chance to correct the action of the driver, thereby continuing the bad driving habit in 2 vehicles that he was using during the last 51/2 months. Nissan SA at no time tried to help or speed up the process or gave me any technical feedback. I think their backup leaves a lot to be desired, in sharp contrast to Bruma Nissan, whose support and backup was exemplary. At no time did I feel pressured into paying anything for the repair until the final point at which time I was given a substantial discount.
