BMW suspends motorplan due to small dent bumper!

Cars & Transport

In September 2012 I bought a demo BMW 118i (March 2012 registration) from a BMW dealership and included in the price was the remainder of the 5-year, 100, 000kms motorplan. On Monday 3 June 2013 I was involved in a low speed accident (a car didn't stop at a yield sign and drove into the back of my car causing slight damage to the back bumper - repair quote from BMW repair centre was R26, 000). On 5 June 2013 I took the car for a routine service at BMW Lyndhurst (Melrose Arch - JHB) and was told that BMW has suspended my motorplan. From what I understand one of the BMW repair centres (Midrand or Randburg) that I got quotes from to repair the damage suspended my motorplan. The BMW repair centres in Randburg and Midrand also informed me that they cannot fix my car until later in the year (Midrand said the first opening they have is in December 2013!). What will now happen if my car now suffers mechanical failure as I am currently not covered by the BMW motorplan? This is ludicrous, how can BMW suspend my motorplan because of a dent on the back bumper and then say that the motorplan will only be reinstated once the bumper has been fixed. BMW must arrange for my car to be repaired a.s.a.p
