Shocking Motorplan data records reporting

Cars & Transport

On the 17th August 2011 I bought a used 135i BMW cabriolet from DNA Cars in Bryanston and the vehicle was financed through Alphera Finacial Services. The purchase price was approx R345 000. On buying the vehicle I specifically asked the consultant if the car was "clean" and had not been involved in any accidents and had not had any major repair work done to the vehicle. The consultant emphatically replied NO and that the car was a clean one

My car's motorplan is due to expire in September 2013 I recently started looking around at purchasing another BMW before the plan expires and on finding a suitable replacement I shockingly discovered that my own current vehicle had been involved in a major accident in 2010 and had incurred repair work to the sum of close to R 200 000! I approached DNA Cars for an explanation and they have subsequently supplied me with the copy of the Motorplan CIA form received from BMW SA confirming that on the 10 / 06 / 2011 the car was considered "clean". What has transpired is that BMW SA Motorplan took over a YEAR to load the correct data onto their system and now I am in possession of a car that I would never have bought had I been told the truth!
