SNAIL SERVICE!!!

I applied for a new account on the 14th Jan 2014, I received an email saying a consultant will contact me within 48 hours, I'm still waiting for someone to call me and its been 7 days already???
How long does it take??? should I rather try another bank??? Is the service always slow with Standard Bank???
