Inability to respond to cancellation request

Over the past week, starting 13 January 2014, I have been trying to get my Insurance Policy with Discovery Insure cancelled.
I logged a call and received a reference number : 315 238 2811 and was advised that this would be sent through to cancellations/retentions department. I advised the call centre operator that I was not interested in retentions. I asked for and was provided with the following e-mail address to send a message to, [Email Removed] I sent a message to this person and did not receive a response.
I also sent an e-mail and received another reference, 315 235 5226 - no response in this regard received either.
I made subsequent calls to follow these requests up and was advised that cancellation was effected but that there were network problems and hence no cancellation notice received.
I called again and through sheer insistence, got to speak to Riaan, Marius' manager and he was able to produce a cancellation notice "IMMEDIATELY". Wow, how is it that Marius was unable to.

Discovery Insure have to me for a week and I am very disturbed that a company that ranked in the #1 for Leading Managers in 2006, behaves like this. Very Sad for SA as well.
