Disputed policy cancellation and delayed claim

I gave notice on my Discovery Insure policy for the end of September 2013 due to finding a far cheaper alternative, this is duly noted on Discovery's system. After the cancellation, One of their retention agents called me to offer a better rate and to convince me to stay with Discovery. After a number of calls I lost me temper with the agent and told her to stop calling me and to cancel my policy as instructed. This retention agent then changed the termination date to August 2013. Towards the end of September my phone was and, when I tried to lodge a claim, I discovered that I had no cover.

I spoke to the agent who received the September cancellation instruction and he confirmed it, but Discovery's retention department claimed that I had changed the date to August when they called me to try to save the business. I disputed this change in date and asked for the voice recording - more than a week later I am still waiting, I have called Discovery's call centre several times and they keep promising top get back to me by close of business which has not happened to date.

This is really poor service and bad administration, please help.
