We were one of those that were affected by the storm that happened on the 28th of Nov 2013. We've since then contacted SIL regarding what do we do as this was our 1st time experiencing such a disaster. We were advised that an Assessor will come through to the house to the damages. Because we were experiencing more rains that week, we had to fix the roof as the tiles were broken and water was coming in the house. SIL advised that we could do that as we had a Emergency Repair (R5, 000). We then fixed had a contractor to fix the roof. I then sent through the invoice that we paid the contractor to SIL (R9, 760) on the 13th of Dec 2013. In the meantime we waited for the contractor hired by SIL to come assess the damages - he eventually came. I called SIL on the 19th of Dec to advise as to what is happening with our claim - spoke to a Jonathan and advised that the assessor's claim and our claim was approved and the amount is going to b in our account that Monday (23 Dec). I asked Jonathan is x amount from the Builder plus our claim will be paid and he agreed. We then waited and we were calling the whole of the next week. We only got the amount that was from the Assessor (28th Dec).
