I have been dealing with my personal banker at Claremont office for a few years now - we generally communicate over email when I need something. I emailed queries to her on 30 December - including an interest in Vehicle Finance for a new car I'm planning to buy. I received no response nor any out of office or email delivery failure. I called the branch a few days later (6 January) only to find out that she no longer works for ABSA.
I never received any notification of this nor a replacement name of someone to call. The reception gave me the details of someone else (who was busy with a customer). I passed the email on to him. To date I have again not received a response nor any sort of delivery failure.
ABSA has since lost my vehicle financing opportunity.
I am appalled at this lack of respect for the platinum customers and, obviously, ABSA has no need for my business. This will not be the first time that I have felt slighted by ABSA Platinum's customer services and I have no idea why I pay such exorbitant bank charges - in most cases my banker was practically useless to me in any case and I'd have to look elsewhere for assistance.
I obviously now need to look at a different bank
