Bad service - misinformed

I have been very happy with Standard Bank but now I am just out of words. I applied for debt consolidation earlier in the month and I was advised that the application would take 15 days. I then called again at a later stage and I was advised that the application would be slightly delayed due to backlogs. I just called and I was advised that the applications being handled at the moment are from August, to which i asked when my application would be processed and was told it would likely be next year. Surely from 15 days, to slightly a few days and now next year. The reason i applied through Standard Bank was because I had been very happy with the service I received and I didn't want to use another bank as it would mean me switching banks. But after this kind of service, waste of time and effort, surely one would move banks. I am quite disappointed with the fact that I was not informed the time I applied that there was a SERIOUS backlog, surely I would have weighed my options. Disappointed after all the praise I had for my bank :(.
