Claim Declined in Contravention of CPA!

I did an upgrade on my MTN cellphone contract last year and Received my Samsung S4. It has since been and 24 Hour Mobilty have declined my claim because I was using a different sim card in the phone.

When taking out the contract I told the consultant that I will be using my vodacom sim card in the phone not the MTN one as that is used by someone else. The consultant even cut my sim card to the right size.

The consultant then offered my insurance on the phone, which I took. At no time did the consultant at MTN give me any policy document or advise me on the exclusion rules on the insurance.

The Consumer protection act states that on any insurance contract, all exclusions need to be drawn to the policy holders attention. This was not done.
I have also yet to receive any policy document as well, the call centre simply say that I had to request it after receiving the welcome SMS from them, which is also Ridiculous.

Had I known that I needed to register my other Sim I would have done so.
The way you do business is done in such a way to catch the customer out and not pay claims. You are nothing better than!

I will be taking this to the ombudsman and CPA.
