I entered into a cell phone contract with MTN last year in December. I was immediately advised to insure my handset with 24hour mobility Insurance in case I encounter a problem with my phone. In order to officiliaze this deal, I had to sign the cell phone contract and I was then given a copy of a paper (the 24hour mobility document) that indicates that I am insured and shows my banking details, personal details and declaration. I have never seen the policy contract. I was also told by one of the MTN Employees that I can change the SIM card, but bearing in mind that the monthly airtime will be send on my new MTN number.

I recently encountered a problem with my handset and opened up a query with the insurance. I spoke to two consultants and they told me that i will not be covered since a SIM card was changed. I told them that I was told by one of the MTN Employees that I can change the SIM card. I went back to MTN to ask for the contract and I was told that MTN does not have the policy contract.
So my question to MTN was, "how can they offer me an insurance without having a policy contract"? I couldn't get an answer from MTN.
