My Mom is deceased! / Money Wasted Advertising

Business & Finance

To whom it may concern,

On Tuesday 29 October 2013, I visited your Robertson branch. I provided them with my mom's DEATH CERTIFICATE and a proceeded to "freeze" her account.

On 31 October 2013 at 18:00:11, an sms from FNB arrived on my mom's mobile phone: "You qualified for rewards in Sep. Make sure you keep qualifying to get rewarded on airtime, electricity, Checkers/Shoprite & fuel purchases..."

Really?!?!

Firstly, we (as family) know that Mom NEVER shopped at Shoprite/Checkers & she never used her card to buy fuel. So that sms "to my mom" was merely inconsiderate, bulk advertising.

Secondly, I OBVIOUSLY have to inform you that us as family were NOT impressed with the continuous advertising - AFTER I informed you that she passed away and I froze her account. There is NO purpose or excuse for sending a deceased person advertisements! The rest of your clientele have to pay for these unnecessary costs. Perhaps time to revise your administration & database updates. It's not rocket-science.

Best wishes.

[Mom's ID number is herewith provided. The mobile number is mine (her daughter)].
