Business & Finance

On Saturday I did shopping at Checkers in Centurion and when I arrived at the till, I presented my e-bucks card to be swiped in order to qualify for e-bucks. I was informed by the cashier and the store manager that they do not accept the card and I need to pay with my FNB credit card or a FNB card linked to e-bucks in order to collect e-bucks. Now regardless as to where I purchase and I pay with my FNB card, I get e-bucks. So what is the big Marketing gimmick they selling the public that if you shop at Checkers/Shoprite you can earn or redeem your e-bucks. I did not pay with my FNB credit card, so I did not earn the e-bucks on a total bill in excess of R4000.00. This is false and misleading advertising!! I purchase from Makro and Dischem and present my e-bucks card and pay cash, and still earn my e-bucks. So in reality, there is no benefit to purchasing from Checkers as you do not earn e-bucks. I was also told by the Checkers store manager, that Makro and Dischem are using an old system and Checkers is on the new system, which to me sounds like a load of hog-wash. FNB/Shoprite Checkers should withdraw their add or give me my e-bucks that I was suppose to earn.
