Hail damage

Business & Finance

Last year the roof of my house and carport was damaged by a major hailstorm on the 8th of November 2012.
I just had the roof re-painted and the previous year I had the waterproofing done.
After the hail my roof started leaking water causing damage to my ceilings and walls. Now with any rains it leaks.
ABSA Insurance dispatched a contractor to quote on the repairs and the claim was approved. I requested the job card. I noticed there was no mention of my roof repairs and I was also unhappy with the one wooden ceiling. I contacted ABSA and they dispatched an assessor. He made the recommendation to replace the wooden ceiling with normal rhino board to which I agree. He then explained the roof paint work was sub standard work and that ABSA will not pay for the re-painting. I also reluctantly agreed to this. My concern was around the waterproofing and that it won't help repairing the ceilings if I keep on getting water damage every time it rains. The assessor said he would make provision for repairs to the roof but this was not done. ABSA was very quick and professional but now states there is now 2 opinions and I need to accept they will not pay for repairs to the roof. What to do?
