My husband and I joined the private banking division of standard bank this year expecting it to make our experience with standard bank easier and more enjoyable. It's done nothing but complicate things. The most they have done is inform us that my husband was a victim of identity after which they could shed no more light on how we might sort this out. Buy we reasoned that they are after all a bank not crime investigators. So we sorted it out ourselves. Back to our home loan application which was the application that initially alerted us that we were victims of identity, with all things cleared we sent standard bank a letter from the creditor in question clearing my husbands name, a new credit report from all major credit bodies as well documents from the investigation of the. We then we asked them to reprocess the home loan they get back to us two weeks later telling us there is some strange body that also needs to clear us. Neither the creditor nor the credit bodies know of this and standard bank can't tell us where to go. So I'm guessing this is our cue to leave this Bank cause we'll be homeless otherwise. Private banking has been very unhelpful
