How long does a credit card application take

I am a small business owner banking at Absa for more than 13 years. A few months ago, I went to Absa, Citrusdal, and tried to apply for a Credit Card. After a very bad start, I decided to go to Absa, Malmesbury on advice of an employee of Absa. After 4 visits there (driving all the way from Citrusdal), they told me that I do qualify for the card and that I have a very good record and rating. They will get everything ready and I don't need to visit the Malmesbury branch. Every thing will be ready at Citrusdal. After visiting Citrusdal branch again (against my better judgement) they told me that they still are not ready. 2 weeks later i visit Citrusdal again and guess what: " I am sorry Mr Mouton, we are still waiting for your card." I wonder if FNB, Nedbank or any other bank could contact me and deliver a card at my doorstep within the next 48 hours.
