I am a new owner in a supposed to be new home

Business & Finance

Hello peter

I have bought the house i am currently staying in this was during the end of winter when there was no rain, Everything looked good newly painted and all looked well . when the rains started water started pouring in really badly something which i did not expect. I approached the real estate company who sold me the house and he referred me to standard bank insurance i called them and logged call to claim for my roof to be fixed they sent an assessor and he assessed and before he left he told me that standard ban is going to decline my claim he said they will call me to give me the verdict, two weeks went past and no phone call, i then called standard bank and they told me that the claim was declined i asked why and they said the reason for it was owners negligence, i have only stayed in this house for 8 months and the only thing i did was repaint, i asked them how can it be owners negligence i am the new owner i found the place like this they kept on repeating the same story of owners negligence. The ceiling is slouching and is brown of the water in the roof and my paint is peeling of the walls this is not my fault as i am the new owner,

Regards
Alex
