My daughter's Smart card was linked to my banking profile. On 6 July 2013 she turned 21 and 8 July it suddenly disappeared from my profile without any notification! She was unable to transfer money to pay for subs. She went to the bank and was advised that she would also pay a higher rate (despite being a student) and it was suggested that she change to a cheque acc. Her service fee would be about R100 and she had 5 free ATM withdrawals. As she still lives with me, she was given a form which I had to sign and when she returned to the bank on 16/7, she was told that her service fee is actually R87 and she would have 6 free ATM withdrawals. This already shows that the staff do not know their stuff giving differing rates to her. What is the rate? She was then told that her card would be ready within 3 to 5 working days. She tried online banking but it said there are 2 accounts. She went to the bank on 23/7 but no card? So she can't access her account online, she can only draw cash or swipe - no transfers (to pay subs). She was told they don't know why the card is not yet there nor when it would be available? This is unacceptable service!
