Standard Bank
Changing of Savings account to Access Account

Business & Finance

On Moday the 15th of April Standard Bank changed over my E-Plan savings account to their new Access Account. All communication before hand was done by sms but none of them warned about what happened.
I have a Business account as well as a personal savings account that was linked on my internet banking as well as my cheque business account card, which meant that I only needed one card to do transactions on both my accounts. Since the change however I have been unable to withdraw at other ATM's nor swipe my card at any shop to transact from my savings account. All transactions had to be done from my business account which meant that I had to transfer money between accounts which incurred extra charges of course. I visited the branch for the 3rd time today and recieved a new card for the access account. This unfortunately meant that they have now delinked my savings account completely from my internet banking as well. The lady at the local branch was very helpfull but due to standard bank system they failed to link these accounts to one card or back to my internet banking. I now have 2 cards, no internet banking on access account and a whole lot of frustration. Why the change?
