I have received a SMS regarding my account from standard bank on the 11/07/2013, of which part of the message stated that I should call the call centre or my branch for more info.
I have called the call centre relaying the message to them however they were unable to assist and offered to transfer my call to the branch, since the branches do not take calls directly. Unsuccessfull they promised to get someone from the branch to call me back. Since I had not heard from the branch in 2 days I called the call centre and spoke to a team leader, who himself could not get hold of the branch on numerous attempts. He offered to lay a complaint and supplied me with a complaint ref. no. 54140947. He had escalated the complaint and assured me that someone will contact me within the day. I am still waiting in vain for the call, no surprise!
I find it absolutely unprofessional of Standard bank to relay important information about a clients account via SMS, and even more pathetic not being able to get in touch with anyone in the branch telephonically for over a week!
