Do not accept a job from EQFin

Hi Peter.
I went for an interview with Gareth, the week after easter.
I was told that I he was happy with me. Filled in all the paperwork. They did tell me that the system check picked up that there might be a possible criminal record on my name. On which I replied that the only way I could see this possible, is that an incident in a restaurant that I worked in more that 13 years ago, where all the waiters that worked that evening had to sign an Admission of Guilt, however, the way that it was explained to me, this would not give me a criminal record. They also told me that it would take them 6 weeks to get the full report and then they would be able to tell me what the record is on my name. And that I would then be able to go and get this removed from my name. Went for training, in Sandton for the following 2 weeks. (which was done at own cost, with no payment). I wrote my exams and passed them. Came back to the branch office on a Thursday, and my Supervisor, Gareth when to Thailand for a week and a half, from that Friday. Upon his return from Thailand, he told me that he did not have a job for me, now real explanation. This seem not right? is it?
