Groupon just cancelled my vouchers!!?

I bought a voucher for a meal at George's on 4th restaurant a few weeks ago. I bought one for my parents too as a gift. Today I receive this email from groupon:
Hey Groupie,
Congrats on getting your hands on the George's on 4th Groupon limited offer.
Please be advised that due to unforseen circumstances your voucher is no longer redeemable at George's on 4th.
We will notify you of any developments as soon as possible.
Huh?? Congrats! Your voucher is no longer valid?? Not a very bright person handling these emails! I email back saying I'm very unimpressed; no reason was given for canceling my voucher; & I expect a refund immediately. I get a generic reply saying my refund is being processed. Still no explanation!
It's embarrassing buying someone a gift & then having to tell them they can't use it. And I'm really annoyed that both vouchers were cancelled without explanation. And when I email my dissatisfaction I'm told I'm getting a refund, but no reason was given for the sudden cancellation.
It reflects poorly on the restaurant as well. Not sure who is to blame here but it was very badly handled by Groupon and I won't be buying any more groupon vouchers that's for sure!!
