I bought a groupon voucher for a beer brewing course in February this year. The option to buy for two people was already full so I bought two single tickets that totaled to R300 (R150 per person).

When I received the voucher I saw that although the voucher value was R300 the description on the voucher was "beer brewing course for one person". I immediately sent a query to groupon concerning this. I received NO RESPONSE.

I hoped that I would receive what I paid for and I booked the beer brewing course for two people with Home Brew. When my husband and his friend arrived for their course the service provider said that the ticket is only for one person as stated on the voucher (his reason was that groupon will not refund him for two if the voucher says for one).

Furiously I wrote to groupon to ask for a refund of R150 since the ticket was only valid for one person. We had to pay an extra R150 for my husband's friend since he wasn't covered by the voucher. After this e-mail I received NO RESPONSE.

I believe groupon is poorly run and there is no mutual co-operation between groupon and service providers since vouchers are difficult to redeem fairly (I did not get what I paid for).
