Slow Lounge
Rip off

Traveling & Tourism

I recently visited the slow lounge at the King Shaka airport domestic lounge.
I do travel quite a bit and regularly make use of this facility without any prior incidents.

On this occasion the R250.00 access fee was not refunded. I did an inquiry with Premier Banking.
They mentioned that a new pricing policy had been introduced last year which I did not know of.
Apparently I had not met all the qualifying criteria (card swipe criteria).

This is really ridiculous. I do understand the monthly earning criteria but not to implement a minimum monthly swipe limit. Do I now have to manually add up all my swipes each month? No one does this???

Had I known about this pricing change and known that I did not meet the criteria, I would definitely not have gone in to the lounge for a quick snack and cold drink at R250.00. Surely they could have informed me upon entering the lounge.

I am not happy with this. Seems that FNB did promise the moon and the stars to get everyone to switch over, and now that they have enough new customers, they are making it more and more difficult to make use of their services.
