First National Bank
SLOW Lounge criteria not as advertised

Business & Finance

I recently had the opportunity of visiting the slow lounge suites at King Shaka and Cape Town International.
Before entering the slow lounge, I read the pamphlet supplied by FNB and requested the reception lady to confirm a few things i did not understand so that I do not have to pay the R250 fee stipulated.
The qualifying criteria was that you must have "Deposits" of x amount and "Spend" of x amount. There is no definition given of what qualifies as spend (or deposit).
It does not specify on their pamphlet that spend is either swipe, cash withdrawals, EFT or debit orders. My knowledge of the term spend is any money going from my account whether I decide to draw cash and spend it or pay school fees e.g cash instead of swiping my card at the school. Irrespective of the nature of the spend, it remains "Spend". If FNB wants their customers to know that "Spend" is "Swipe", why don't they state that.
I requested that the fees be reversed but I was assured that that will not happen under any circumstances.
I've been very happy with FNB, but this just changed my attitude 360 degrees towards FNB.
IT IS MISLEADING ADVERTISING.
