Virgin not repaying money promised

In January this year I traveled from LHR to JNB. When I arrived I discovered my son's car seat was broken. I immediately reported it at the airport but, as I live 7hrs away and my ride was waiting I was given a reference number and told to call from home. I did so and the utterly useless UK branch said they would not honour my claim for absolutely no good reason. I spoke with Beverleigh Cooper at JNB who was very helpful and she authprised a reimbursement upon receipt of my claim after I had replaced the car seat. I bought the same brand and model for R1900 and sent her the invoice and she filed the claim. Over a month later and I have heard nothing back. I have contacted VA on many occasions and they keep promising to get back to me but never do. They have said I must email but that just goes through to the useless UK branch and they say they won't repay. I have spent a small fortune on calling and am out of pocket almost R2000 and barely have money enough to eat this month, yet this greedy airline doesn't care.
