My wife and I planned a holiday in New York for New Years 2012 and booked our flights through Virgin Atlantic we had a connecting flght in London. I have a condition with my knee's which could prove rather painful when travelling for a long period of time with my knees bent. So my wife and I decided to get to the airport as early as possiple to maybe get a a seat by a door we were delighted to find we could upgrade our seats which costed R860 which was such a waste because this afforded me /- 5cm extra leg room and a upside down TV screen for my wife that was never sorted out no matter how many times we complained. But the worst was coming back my wife bought me a collectors framed soccer jersey valued at R4180 we paid a further R240 to Virgin Atlantic London to have the package on the same flight with us back to SA. but it did not arrive with us in SA and when made a enquiry and placed a claim I was told the package might have not even being loaded on the plane and I now received a e-mail from Virgin Atlantic UK that they are unable to compensate me anything for my lose. but their mistake. I could not claim from travel insurance because it took Virgin Altantic 3 months to reply
