Poor in-flight service- Min compensation

Good day
I flew from New York to Johannesburg on Flight SA 405Sat 28 Sept 2013.
Once again, the inflight entertainment was NOT working in my allocated seat!!!
For more than 5 hours the SAA staff had to battle to change my seat in order for me to get the service from SAA which I PAID for!!!
Please advise whether the SAA fleet is checked on a regular basis as for me to have such a MAJOR problem on two separate flights just simply boggles the mind!! Such a fuss is made on the `wonderful` in-flight entertainment and then I am left stranded!!!
My sincere thanks to Johnny Jordaan- SA 203- and Haley Wentworth- SA 405- to do their best to assist me in these very trying conditions.
Two flights, severe inconvenienced suffered by me and I as we had to take turns watching movies and using the in-flight entertainment - the paying customers!!
Is this the type of service SAA offers??
All SAA is perpared to offer me for this massive inconvenience is 3000 Voyager miles for my wife and myself. There is NOTHING 3000miles can be used for. I believe that my rights as the consumer has been infringed- I did not get what I paid for! Dr Gavin M and Mrs. H M April
