We flew back to Lanseria Airport from CT International on Saturday, 8 June 2013 on the MN 0476 flight. As we waited for our departure, the Kulula flight arrived. It was the first time ever that I saw with my own two eyes how an airline treats the next flight to leave as though is was just an ordinary bus leaving for a next stop.
All that you could see was bags being thrown from the carrier, people getting off etc. In the next 15 - 20 minutes the new passengers were on board, bags packed and off we go...!!! Horrific! It went through my mind if they really made an effort to do the safety checks before take-off? Or is it just a matter of time versus money?
BUT THEN... as we took off, the captain (definitely my hero!) announced that there was something wrong with the baggage door and we had to return to the airport.
The engineer on the ground came to have a look and decided that they could fix it there and then. We sat in the aeroplane for nearly an hour and a half.
Kulula sent an e-mail ON BOARD to say that the flight will be delayed... Really? After that not one word to explain.
They didn't offer us coffee/tea/water complimentary while waiting.
Please look after your passengers!
