Water damage excuse becoming a norm

I recently booked my sons phone in for a software update because the phone kept freezing every now and then... and had to take the battery out to reboot phone. i went to my nearest store and was told its a software issue. phone went to nashua repair centre with nothing wrong except freezing, 3weeks later the phone arrives back and i pick it up, the sales consultant opens the package the back cover falls out and does not clip in, they tried to sort the matter. the next morning i tookthe unit back to them as the speaker and mice did not work and was still freezing, a week later a recieved a bill for the repair carried out, wen i queried this they told me i had to pay for the cover (thats broken), i told the store & advisor that i did not request a back cover or button to be replaced.i was then told i am paying for the repair as the unit is out of warranty this on my 2cnd call, i told the advisor that the unit has a 2year warranty.3rd call they told me now that the unit is water damaged (BER).why did they not pick it up the 1st time and do a report, water damaged, the unit is not even near a air cond, and only used on weekends or emergency, 6 weeks now a
