Samsung S3 LTE keeps losing signal

I've been using the Samsung S3 LTE model since its launch on the Vodacom network November 2012. The first month was dodgy but it got better and then suddenly since this past weekend I constantly struggle with the device losing connectivity and then remaining that way until reboot. This is getting extremely annoying and is making the device very unreliable as a communication tool.
