Last month, I decided to join Telkom internet on a 1mbps line. I was previously with another ISP and getting speeds about 850kbps. For the last week, I've been getting downloads speeds of about 280kbps. I phoned technical support and they told me that I would receive speeds of UP TO 1mbps and not constantly 1mbps.

I find it absolutely ridiculous, that in this day and age, a huge company like Telkom cannot deliver services that they have promised. If I pay for a 1mbps line, I expect my line to be 1mbps, not fluctuating in the 300kbps range.

My speeds have been nowhere near the 1mbps mark, this is totally unacceptable.

South Africa is already so far behind the rest of the world in terms of internet speed, and Telkom does nothing to rectify the situation

I hope that they will reply to this complaint
