Sharelink Router terribly Slow

During December I had taken out a MTN Sharelink contract due to the deal that was advertised, upon speaking to a MTN consultant, I was told that for the first 3GB i would receive speeds upto 21Mbs per second thereafter it would drop to around 256kbs per second, i have yet to see a speed of more than 128kbs per second before the first 3GB's or after. i was also told that there is coverage in my area. i would like to know if this contract can be cancelled as I will not pay for a service that i am not receiving.
