Debit order cancelled without notification

My contract expired and I informed the person calling me about a renewal that I would like to keep my topup account going on a month to month basis until I used up all of my remaining airtime balance. Vodacom then cancelled my debit order without informing me. This morning I woke up to find out that my line was locked and I could not access any services. At no time did Vodacom contact me to inform me that either my debit order was cancelled or that my account was in arrears.

I went in to the Vangate Mall Vodashop (where I took out my account) to try and settle my account only to be informed that they did not accept payments at that branch and I would need to go to another branch. This is extremely inconvenient for me as it means another day without cellular service. The person that helped me also could not tell me whether I could do an eft to settle my account.
