Unhappy Customer of 13 years!

At the end of November I went away and was out of the country until early Feb. My account was in arrears but I was planning to settle it in full in early Feb when I returned. But by the time I came back my account was closed. Vodacom explained that they tried to call me. I had left my contact details on my voicemail as extended absence. So I tried to mention that if I knew that my account would be closed and cause me so much inconvenience to reoopen, I would have. I tried to get someone to talk to to about this but was pushed from pillar to post. The manager at Eastgate did not seem like he was even aware of the consumer protection act... I also realised that after settling the account it would cost me R250 per account (my daughter is on my profile). Personally I wanted all the costs associated with reopening the accounts to be reversed as I really should have been informed before they closed my account. I am a loyal customer of 13 years and used to be on corporate account and very high usage of over R15 000 per month 7-8 years ago (and their records can prove this). That, and my number of years with Vodacom should count for something surely.
