Offered upgrade with one month's free, and charged

Unfortunately I am once again writing on hello peter as this is the only way I get a response from MTN.
I wrote a few weeks back about how I was offered an upgrade on my existing contract and was offered by the retentions department one months free if I decided to take the upgrade. Which I eventually took.
Today I get into work and in my emails is a bill for this month, for not only an upgrade plus my regular amount?
As per usual, I am unable to get hold of anyone on the 083-1-808 number either!
