Termination of Agreement with MTN | REQ:1864735

Telecommunications

Dear Wenzile

thank you very much for the timely response.

The fact that "This is because the airtime is only provisioned for the contract, it cannot be transferred to another tariff." has previously been explained to me already. I do however disagree to the proposed solution: "to use the airtime" because I don't tend to change my telecommunication habits and spend more money than I usually do.
A call centre agent suggested I should remain on the contract for longer to use the accumulated minutes.
If I were to do this, I'd even accumulate more minutes I can not use. Also as I am going to have to leave the country beginning of April... the reason for the termination.
According to the South African Customer Protection Act (section 14 a) the supplier (MTN) is liable to "credit the consumer with any amounts that remains the property of the consumer as of the date of cancellation [prepaid and unused airtime].".
I hope this matter does not have to go further and we will come to an agreement, since I'd like to remain in good terms with MTN to hopefully extend to a 24 months contract upon my return to SA. So please speak to a super visor concerning this. Tank you and
Kind Regards
