24 month contract for a phone that does not work!!

Upgraded my contract on Saturday morning to include a Samsung SIII 4G phone, spent the whole of Saturday night trying to get it to receive signal, took it to my son-in-law Sunday morning who spent an hour trying, took it to Vodacom 4U Westgate who sold me the phone, they couldn't get it to work after an hour, they even brought in a Samsung consultant from the Samsung store a few doors away who again after another hour COULD NOT GET THE PHONE TO RECEIVE SIGNAL! In less than 24 hours I had returned the phone back to Vodacom yet they are not willing to cancel the contract, nor refund me the money it cost me for a new sim card as well as the upgrade fees. The most disgusting thing is that if you search for SIII 4G phone problems, the phone is regularly cited as being unable to contact to the VODACOM network, the store offered me a older model at the same price! Is this really service? If i am sold a phone that can not connect to your network, how the is this contract valid! Absolutely pathetic! If vodacom network can not support the new technology why are their stores selling people the phones???
